Editing your affiliate program

Getting affiliates on DigiResults

Affiliates can sign up to your affiliate program through the marketplace page of any of your products.

Whenever someone visits one of your pages, DigiResults will automatically detect if they’re already signed up to your program. If they are, they’ll see their affiliate link ready and waiting for them:

Affiliate link

If they’re not, they’ll be prompted to sign up to your program:

Affiliate request

When they click the apply button, they’ll be prompted to answer a couple of questions about how they’ll be promoting your products. This blocks spambots and helps protect you from fraud. Their answers will be sent to your DigiResults-registered e-mail.

To change what your affiliates see when they apply, see the Editing your affiliate program section.

Managing and Approving Affiliates

Go to:

Manage > Affiliates

You’ll see this screen:

Affiliate list

From here you can check details of all your approved affiliates, including their e-mail details, when they were approved and the payment delay.

On the right of the table you should see 3 blue buttons for each affiliate: View, Edit and Block.

Commission Overrides

DigiResults allows you to give certain affiliates preferential treatment, for instance if they’re your most valued partner you might want to give them some bonus commission.

On the screen above, click ‘View’ on the affiliate for whom you want to add a commission override.

On this screen, you’ll be able to see any commission overrides currently in place for this affiliate, add them and edit them. Click here for more details on commission overrides.

Editing affiliate details

Click the Edit button for the affiliate you want to change in the table above.

From this screen you will be able to edit the payment delay for this affiliate. You can change this by selecting a payment term from the drop-down box in the ‘Payment terms’ section, scrolling to the bottom of the screen and clicking on ‘Update affiliate’.

You can read more details on delayed payments here.

You can also record further details on this affiliate such as Skype ID, postal address etc from this screen.

Blocking affiliates

If for any reason you want an affiliate who is currently approved on your program to be removed from it, click the ‘Block’ button in the table shown above.

The affiliate will no longer be able to promote your products.

Approving affiliates

Go to:

Manage > Affiliates > Approve Affiliates

Approve affiliates

Here you’ll see a list of everyone who has applied to join your affiliate program.

Approve affiliates screen

Their responses to your affiliate approval questions will be sent to your e-mail address.

To approve an affiliate, tick the box next to their ID number, and select the payment terms from the drop-down list at the top. You have the following options:

  • Instant: Your affiliates will be paid instantly at the point of sale. We recommend only using this option for affiliates you know and trust.
  • 7 days: Affiliates will be paid 7 days after sale. Their commission will be held in your PayPal account until then.
  • 14 days: Affiliates will be paid 14 days after sale.
  • 30 days: Affiliates will be paid 30 days after sale. This is our recommended option for affiliates you don’t know.
  • 60 days: Affiliates will be paid 60 days after sale.
  • Reject: The affiliate will not be permitted to promote your product.

You can read more about delayed payments here.

You can change payment terms after an affiliate has been approved through the Manage Affiliates screen.

When you’ve selected the payment terms, click ‘Apply to selected’. Your affiliate will be approved, and they’ll be sent an e-mail letting them know they can promote your products.

You can approve several affiliates at once on the same terms by simply ticking multiple boxes before clicking ‘Apply to selected’.

Affiliate Leads

DigiResults allows you to record details of potential affiliates you’ve found and are chasing up before they apply to your program. You can use this for pro-active affiliate recruitment: rather than wait for affiliates to come to you, you can hunt them down yourself.

Go to:

Manage > Affiliates > Leads

You’ll see a screen that looks like this:

Affiliate leads screen

Click ‘Add new lead’ to enter the details of your new potential contact. Set their status from the following options:

  • Not approached
  • Contact again in future
  • Second contact attempted
  • Lead lost
  • Contacted
  • Promo lined up

When you’ve entered all the information you’ve got, click ‘Create Lead’ at the bottom of the page, and your new lead will be added to the list.

This allows you to keep all your leads organized.

You can view lead details, edit your information or delete leads from your list using the 3 buttons on the right hand side of that table.

Merging lead info

Once a lead has signed up to your program, you’ll want to import all the data you’ve collected on that lead to that affiliate’s file.

To do this, first you’ll need their affiliate ID. Once you have that, find the affiliate in your leads table, click ‘View’, and then click ‘Merge’.

Merge button

Enter your new affiliate’s ID when prompted.

You’ll see 3 columns of data. On the left is any data you already have recorded for the affiliate. In the middle is the final data that’s going to be recorded. On the right is the data recorded against the lead.

Data merge

Ensure all the data you want recorded against the affiliate is in the middle column – you can change this if you want – and then click ‘Merge and delete lead’.

You won’t be able to retrieve any information you haven’t entered into the middle column once you’ve deleted the lead, so make sure you’ve got it all.
