DigiResults provides list automation rules to allow you to finely tailor your customer lists.
Here’s something very important to remember:
YOU PROBABLY DON’T NEED THEM!
The option’s available for those people who like to have really thoroughly segmented lists, but if you’re just looking to subscribe your customers on purchase (which is all 95% of people need) you don’t need to worry about them.
You don’t need list automation rules if:
You just want to subscribe your customers to your e-mail list when they purchase your product
You do need list automation rules if:
You want to do anything more complicated. For instance:
You have collected subscribers from a squeeze page who you then try to sell your main product to. When they buy, you want them to be removed from your opt-in list and placed on your buyers list. See the example here.
You are running a subscription, and want your subscribers on different lists depending on whether they completed or cancelled the trial.
What happens if I don’t have any list automation rules?
Your customers will automatically be subscribed to the list you set up in your autoresponder integration.
Setting up List Automation Rules
Before you can set up list automation rules, you’ll need to have an autoresponder integrated. If you haven’t done that yet, you can find out how to do so here.
In the ‘Autoresponder integration’ section of the ‘Edit Variant’ screen, scroll down to ‘List automation rules’ and click on ‘Add action’.

You’ll then be taken to this screen:

Here you can choose:
Event: The event you would like to trigger the rule
Action: The action to take
List: The list you would like the action to relate to
In the screenshot above, on sale of the product the customer will be subscribed to the Digi Marketing Jedi list.
Click ‘Create List automation rule’.
You’ll be taken back to the Edit Variant screen, where you’ll see something like this:

To delete your rule, click on the red ‘Delete’ button. To add a new rule, click ‘Add action’.
